sub size question

I'm replacing an old sub from a ported box. I'm not sure what size the actual sub is. The diameter of the cone is 7", but from end to end where the screw holes are it measures 8.5 inches i believe.

My questions is, what size sub should i order? An 7" or 8" sub???

What is the outside diameter of the frame?

I would think you'd also need to know: box size, tuning, what VC config for the amp, how much power amp puts out. It's not really a "plug & play" endeavor....

its a pretty old stereo. about 10 or 12 years old now. It says 250 watts @ 8 or 6 ohms i beleive. Not sure how to tell if its DVC or SVC.
