A friend of mine has asked me to help him fix some late 80's Fisher speakers that have blown tweeters and some pushed in midrange drivers. I pulled out one tweeter and one mid - there isn't much there....
He doesn't want too spend much so I thought about putting in some of the Goldwood drivers from PE because they are about as close to drop-in as I've found.
I wanted to "upgrade" him to the Pioneer cones but the tweeters are too small for the existing cutouts.
The "whopping" grand total on the Goldwoods is like $17 for the two tweeters and two mids.
Anyone know other sources for plain old cone-type mids and tweets? Or, do you think these Goldwoods are probably on par with what's in them now and about as good as any of this general type?
