Poor man's baffle for testing purposes?

This may sound strange but would it be ok to use a piece of cardboard to simulate the speaker baffle when testing Freq. Resp. data of a driver in Speaker Workshop? I don't have access to any tools capable of cutting a round hole in wood right now but I could simulate it via cardboard. Would this work?

It will only work for the higher frequencies that aren't absorbed by or excite the material.
