Maybe they are bought by another company?

      Hello Thomas,
I have had several inquiries about this today.
I am a dealer for DDS and have sold some product to people on this forum.

DDS is indeed closing its doors. It will probably be bought by one of two speaker manufacturers. This will happen as fast as next week. Not sure of the impact on You/Me yet, but it seems that once they are back up to speed that we will be able to get the same product.

Both companies in question are big users of the product, and have their own molds at DDS. I am sure they are going to be concerned about getting their needs taken care of first, and then hopefully we will get what we need after they are up to speed.

If it is appropriate, I will post what I know here next week.

      Regards, Jack Arnott
(Not sure if I put my company affiliation here, or if that is forbidden marketing as I am new to the forum)

        Hi Jack,

        Thanks for the info.

No you're not supposed to post a link, but I can....

            Hello Jack,

Thanks for posting, I'll try to ring you up next week while I'm business travel- I got your email, but I had a couple of dentist appointments this afternoon (exam by my peridontal specialist, which went very well, and a cleaning a bit later).

We'll see what develops- Hope the ENG-1 continues in some form, it has some nice characteristics for a high grade home speaker.

              Hello All,
So DDS has been bought by a speaker company in Texas.
They are in the process of getting a truck to WA to get the machinery, and hope to be up and running in about 30 days.
An official announcement is expected this week.

              Regards, Jack

Thanks for the update mefistofelez, seems that fall 2007 would be a reasonable estimate for the DIY market.
