    two way crossover help?

Does anyone have any software availabe and a little bit of time where they would be willing to throw some parameters from Parts Express into it and see what kind of crossover comes out for me?

I'm looking to keep this project real cheap, hence the choice of drivers:

If anyone could spare a few minutes, or if anyone knows a website where I can punch the parameters in and they could point me there, that would be great.

I will be building a cabinet that is around .75 cu ft (or smaller if required) with a 1 1/2" port tube 4" long.

Thanks for any help you could provide!

Because these are inifinite baffle test data, one would have to first process the data with a simulation of your planned baffle before attempting a crossover– unless you're mounting them flush in the wall, in which case things are fairly easy. How are you setting these up? Even tweeter location on the baffle affects the response profile, and I always measure or simulate the system baffle configuration first.

The simplest road here is to build the BR-1 kit as-is.

Here's my simple baffle layout, hopefully this helps. Thanks!

CJD, I didn't realize parts express already had this design. I'd like to build that with my own enclosures though. I guess I could just follow the crossover design from Murphyblaster..

yes. I didn't mean you should buy the boxes and stuff. Baflle layout does impact crossover design though... some.

True, but if I follow their crossover, that should get me real close and I can tweak by ear I'm hoping. The only thing I don't have is the box dimensions and layout. After designing the box, I see mine came in at .40 cu ft. I don't know where that falls in comparison to the BR-1 kit.

tweaking by ear is the cause of some of the most "not right" speakers I've ever heard. Not bad sounding, but not right sounding. Including some of my early projects.

Well, that makes me feel confident...

....maybe I should head back to the drawing board.

Well... the differences aren't likely to be things you'll hear, unless your ears have years of working in the field specifically. I *have* had someone point out a problem that I later verified with measurements, so it's possible. But even THAT individual didn't tweak exclusively by ear, he always checked/verified.

                      BR-1 kit

I suggest going to Parts Express site. BR -1 kit is part #300-640. Dimensions are shown for recommended box and crossover is in manual I believe.
