Inductor layout - please check!

Yeah, valentines day was pretty good; She is going to let me keep the HUGE center channel!
Anyway, I am getting 'noid about the inductor layout. Do you think there is any problem with the way I have it now?

They're spaced way plenty far apart... and the right angle spacing on the two sort of close together in the upper left is fine.

Now, what's with that bar core inductor in the lower right? :nono: :W

I wired the bar inductor on its own line far away from everything.

I also separated the three XO's.It made it easier wiring.

I thought the bar core was copacetic for the wmtw? It is part of DM's seas crossover - in the BOM.
It is a 4.7 in the woofer circuit.

Hey, don't pay any attention to me! If someone designed the crossover with the bar type inductor, then that's what they designed-

Core type inductors are less linear, and depending on the material have hysterisis losses, permeability droop with increasing current (distortion), and when they saturate the inductance pretty much goes away. It's a good idea to as a designer to test an inductor with a power amp at the maximum planned output power into a large resistive power load, and see what the current distortion looks like on an analyzer.

The 4.7mH was for the woofers.Are you suggesting that this type would carry the signal better and remain linear.If I am to understand you, over driving the iron core would lower its inductance and pass a signal not intended, which would alter the XO response.

Could you give an example of the ill-effect.Would the lowpass be higher ?

Hmmm. I missed the whole issue on the long thread. IIRC, someone there said they "had no issue" with them. I will search.... For $40 or $50 differential, if I could hear a positive difference, I will go for it.
The question is: Would I hear a difference?
