Does anyone know of any published 2-way designs using the Peerless 830883. I've searched without any luck. Jon Marsh mentioned such a design was forthcoming in the RS180 Modula MT thread some time ago. Did I miss it? Thanks.

No, but since the design/characteristics of the driver has changed, I'm not sure I'm going to publish something like this, though I think it would still work. (also, the tweeter I want to use has been delayed in commercial release). I have very original "early" 830883's; the newer one have a difference in midrange behavior around 1 kHz. Grrrrrrr.
I'm considering focusing on a three way Modula MT upgrade instead, but then I wouldn't use the 830883, as the deeper bass isn't one of it's strengths. I have been originally interested in the 883 because of it's low linear distortion and low nonlinear distortion in the midrange.
Ultra Nearfield showing freedome from flex/dip "pre-breakup" behavior
The newest/current version reportedly has a different cone or spider/surround support, and shows a dip above 1 kHz that may be characteristics of cone edge resonance. It's not an improvement, but it's all folks can buy now, so I'm not inclined to do further development, except for whatever I use my own for.
For the 3 way approach, I'm considering the HiVi D6.8 again, which I've used before with nice results in the precursor to the Modula MT. Nice bottom end and lower midrange. 3" VC, Nedymium magnet. I'm on an ND magnet kick this year.the AudioWorx

If you have your heart set on a two way with these, my next quesiton is what tweeter did you hvae in mind? Whipping up a Modula MT design with say, the RS28a or Seas 27TDFC wouldn't be any big deal. But it would be with data for my 830883's, not current production parts, which are a bit different.the AudioWorx

I'm curious to get my hands on another pair, a newer pair of 883's. I did some more testing of the low end behaviour of my 883(which is an "old" version as well) and it turns out the low end is more respectable than I thought. May actually be as good as the RS180. I'll post the measurements soon...
Anyway, I still plan on a 883/hds tweet, 2nd order in a PE cab. Probably the 3/4. I know the Peerless spec sheet lists what, 10-14 L as a suggested volume. I guess if you like the moderate Q hump before the LF roll off, that would be ok, but I'd use a bigger box.- Bottom

would be interested to see those measurements some day, Mark.
well, I just did an updated D6.8 two way design last weekend, might as well try a Seas / 883 design this weekend!!
Got a new amp coming in for voicing the small systems, an Ayre AX-7e integrated, about 60w/ch @ 8 ohms, doubles at 4. I found a good mint low mileage used one...the AudioWorx
