Do I need foam gaskets for SS RL-P 15s

I don't know if I should use a foam gasket with the SS drivers as there's a rubber surround already there. Or is that there to just protect it in shipping?

They're primarily cosmetic but work pretty well as a seal if the drivers are recessed and the mounting surface is quite flat. If the drivers are surface mounted, I recommend the use of neoprene foam weather-stripping tape.
