    Raven tweeter with Eton woofer?

Hi all, I am looking into building bookself speakers using Raven ribbon tweeters and Eton woofers. I already have a set of speakers using scan speak and want try something different. If I am using the Raven R-1, does anyone have any recommendations on which Eton woofer I should use with it? Thanks CJ

You should post this in the Mission Possible DIY area.

You need a woofer with enough extension to cross over to a R1. So what about the Eton 5"? The bigger Eton's cannot easily crossed > 2500 Hz.

          Hi,

Not sure where your woodworking skills are at but I'd experiment with extending the waveguide on the faceplate. It will boost the low end and make it easier to match directivity with a midwoofer. With the R1 you've got basically a low excursion 3/4 inch tweeter. That makes a 2-way pretty tough. Without a waveguide e-speakers recommends a 6kHz-8kHz crossover.
