    MobilePre/Laptop setup

Hello everyone. I just bought a laptop today and finally have my speaker testing setup together.

I have the M Audio Mobile Pre and will be using Soundeasy. What settings should I have for the Mobilepre and in the audio control panel? Any need to use the newest drivers, or should the ones on the disc be ok?

    Thanks.

I've used both the CD and the downloaded drivers, they both work fine for the programs I was running. Since I don't use SoundEasy so can't comment regarding that.

Thanks Thomas. Anyone use Soundeasy? I'm not sure how to set up the probes for measuring impedence and SPL. The owner's manual isn't very clear. Is there a forum for SE? I cannot join the user group at Yahoo. I don't know why. :M

You can't join this list? Do you have a Yahoo account?

You must have some mojo Thomas! I tried joining a dozen times from the link at the SE site. Everytime I hit join on the SoundEasyuserslist yahoo page I get some generic user group page, no mention of SE and it doesn't show up in the group search. I tried your link and after I hit join I got congratulations page and it sent me to the messege board!

          Thanks :T

I'm running 40Hz sine .wav file from the laptop to a Yamaha receiver to break in a couple drivers. I'm getting random pops :E Anyone know what could cause that? All my levels are 75-100% and I'm controlling the volume at tthe Yamaha.

Usually this comes from the background apps.
Turn off the screen saver, power saver, and disconnect the internet connection.

This may or may not work. If not, you've got to look what else is running that you can kill.
