Peg board wall for a bass trap?

I was wondering if a peg board wall with unfaced insulation behind it would work as a room deadening device and/or bass trap? I would have it flush with my L/C/R + sub speakers at 12'w x 7'h with a cavity 2' deep. I saw a similar idea using horizontal slats on a rear wall to reduce reflections but I'd prefer to have this wall behind my a/t projector screen. What isn't covered by the pj screen could be hidden with fabric. My rear wall is some 25' away and will have book cases there.

This white paper by Ethan Winer has a lot of good reference material regarding acoustics without being too technical. There are some plans for low cost bass traps for DIY.

Thanks, that was what I was looking for. Guess I'll just have to try it and then measure and adjust 'till satisfied.
