New Caps at PE

Auricap metallized film capacitors. Does anyone know anything about them?

Seems to be priced against the Audio Cap Thetas. I assume though that choice is always good!

You'll find a lot of good reading here http://www.soniccraft.com/products/capacitors/film.htm which of course is all Jeff's opinion. Jeff Golacki (sp) is the owner of Sonic Craft and designer of the highly regarded Sonicaps.

I have a pair of Auricaps in my modded Squeezebox and they sound very nice to my ears. Very spendy, however.

'Hearing' the difference mega$pendy caps create is not only dependent the speaker, but also the electronics in the signal path.

So, you really need top notch electronics in order to listen to the difference between caps? I sure hope so - that way I don't need to spend that much money

I usually use two caps of half the nominal value each, and a film and foil small cap. I don't know if it's correct, but next time, I'll try half the value with metallized polyproylene and half with film and foil.
