      peter,

      The CX2310 is a crossover.

      The DEQ and DSP1124P are EQ. The DEQ is a much better EQ than the 1124P

          What about the Velodyne SMS-1? Is it worth the money compared to the DEQ?

            For less money I'd take the DEQ, a Behringer test mic and RTA testing software - that would seem to me to be a much more useful and flexible package.

                this thread, i guess i dont get what you were saying then

                anyways i will have this chain

                cd---> deq----> pre---(output one)---> main amp
                (output 2)-----> crossover???? -----> behringer 2500

                or just a crown for asthetic reasons

                my question is the deq versitile enough to be sufficient at taming the sub range while doing full range eq- thats what i ment in the original question

                  I think he said that the DEQ can use a shelving filter like an LP, but no mention of a crossover per say.

                    Correct the DEQ can be used to create multiple shelving filters, either HP or LP but it's not meant to be used as a crossover, since the filter slopes are limited to 6 or 12 dB/octave.

                    It's the only Behringer EQ specifically designed and built for high sound quality signal processing.

                      The Velo is a very nice unit, because it is so automatic, does most everything, and is more self-contained. But it is pretty $$. If you aren't afraid of a little more complexity, the DEQ/REQW is cheeper and more powerful, but more work.

                      I've used both. I own a DEQ.

                        Thomas, did you ever try your DEQ on your full-range speakers? If so, how did it sound?
