There's been lots of talk about whether pro amps are as good as home amps with regard to fidelity on several forums, but not a lot of objective data has been posted. Are there any publications that publish measurements (THD+N vs. Power, etc) for pro amps, such as what Stereophile does for home equipment? I could make up my mind a lot faster if I could see THD vs. freq and THD vs. power measurements for these guys.

No doubt there are musican and pro-sound magazines that review these kinds of products.

Recent comparisons of my NYAL moscode 300 hybrid tube/MOSFET amp vs a crown K2 were interesting. I slightly prefer the sound of the moscode amp, but if I didn't compare the two I would be happy with the crown K2 driving my main speakers. This was not a blind comparison. I can't tell if the moscode is coloring the music or not, need more amps to compare with. With home theater the differences would potentially be less.
Bottom line: Comparisons between two points always form a trend. I need to compare more amps in order to form a better opinion. For me the difference was close enough that I have not ruled out buying a few more pro amps to power the home theater.Comment
