Slat Resonators

Has anyone built one of these? The concept seems interesting, I just don't know how much absorption to expect from one.

I looked at building some at one point but decided on a more broadband approach. I think I still have a spreadsheet on my website that gives the frequencies, size, etc for construction of both the slat type and perforated varieties.
