How deep to recess RL-P15?

How deep of a recess is everyone making their rabbet for the RL-P15?

I made mine 1/4" for some reason and I'm thinking about making it deeper. My diameter is great, but I want to recess the driver a bit more.

I usually recess these the depth of the rubber gasket.

I recessed mine, iirc, 1/2". This is about the depth of the metal rim. So my rim is flush, but the rubber surround sticks out still another 1/2" or so. I would love to have it recessed even move, but to do that I would have to beef the front baffle up even more.

Mine was recessed the full thickness of the mdf panel 3/4 and sits almost flush. I used 3 layers for the baffle.
