I'm baaaaaccckkk!! I finally got home long enough to finish my Nat-Ps. See Pictures below.

Sound is phenomenal, very detailed and open. I cut my port length down to 6 inches from the 11 that I had before and it did wonders for bass response. I actually am ok with the bottom ports now. With these two speakers in my theater, bass is solid and of high quality in these cabs. I will be moving them to my 2-channel room eventually. I will report on how they compare to my Spendor S5e's and my Vandersteen 2C's. I expect they will blow both out of the water based on what I have heard so far (although the speakers are in different rooms so it is hard to compare yet).

Note the feet I made out of Africa Mahagony and added adjustable spikes (the right speaker does not have it's spikes in the picture). With the spikes, I can raise the speaker from 1.5" up to as much as 3" off the floor.

The boxes turned out amazingly well (although I would like to change the black painted finish to a veneer next time). Finish on the mahagony veern of the baffle, top, back, and bottom is a wipe on poly and I will wax them after about three days. I may sit them in the sun so they darken even more. Screws are two sizes of pocket hole screws. I got hurricane screw inserts and secutity hex screws for my next project but either works very well.

Crossover wiring I will need to upgrade at some point to the ApexJr stuff but I have not put the order in yet. Sounds pretty darn good even with my regular 16 guage wire, though. I just got some Cardas EU Solder and that seems to work well.

I lined the back wall of the box at the top above the first brace and lined the front wall at the bottom below the lower brace. I also lined the bottom around the port opening. Crossovers are easily removable through the woofer holes. They are ready for auditions.

These sound great. One big question, though. If I replace the Nat-P crossover with the modula-MTM crossover, where will the difference in sound show up? Anybody know? I started this quest wanting to compare the two but these sound so good I have a hard time imagining much of a difference.

Anybody thinking of building these should go for it starting yesterday. Thanks to all for the help and I will post more impressions on the comparisons.

Built with high-end components and played back with really high-end equipment, there would be an audible difference between the 2 crossovers. Other than that they'll sound very similar.

Here is my BOM, for those interested. Certainly can be done for much less if you want but it suites me well. Blows away the Spendor S5E and the Vandersteen 2C. Seems much more dynamic than either of those other speakers. Soundstage extends well outside the speakers on some music. Female vocals are notably high quality. For the moment, I am playing them through my NAD 163/973 multichannel setup in the theater. When I get them moved up to my AMINA tube Pre-amp with Amina Power amps (strapped monoblocks at 160 WPC) they will really begin to sing. And if not, I will have to build an amp!

                  Beautiful work!

What the center channel design? Nat-P or your own?

Thanks. The center is my cabinet design but the crossover and dimensions are from the Audax Center project. I had a build thread back on AVSForum when I did it. See the link below.
                    Audax CC Build

I just finished grille covers for my Nat-Ps. will post some pics later this week. Building the MTM crossover to test difference.

I finally got pictures of the grilles I put on these things. They don't affect the sound too much in normal listening but the speakers sound better with them off. Its like a clean car. It seems to run better.
