Hmm, 17lbs....probably a digital switching amp, yet it still uses a fan, interesting. I may be way off, but I just don't feel comfortable with digital switching amps being used for high performance subwoofers - they seem to be at a slight disadvantage compared to class A or A/B amps in terms of how much current-generating capaibility they have in very short periods of time, and most bass is dynamic. Will that slight delay be audible? Perhaps not, but if they cost about the same, I figure why take the chance.- Bottom

I think the one of the Behringer EP amps combined with a DEQ2496 is a better option.

I saw this a while ago when I was looking for a more powerful amp. To me, it comes down to how programmable the DSP was. There wasn't much info on the DSP on Crown's website when I looked.
I also figured our Heros, Thomas and Jon, would be all over it and recommending it, if it were a good solution.
So, I bought the Behringer EP2500 and DEQ.- Bottom
