Need help connecting Behringer 2500!!!!

I recieved the behringer 2500 amp on yesterday from P.E. I am trying to connect it through the 1/4 jacks on the back using a radio shack 1/4 to rca adaptor. Problem is I cant get the signal lights to light up therefore no sound! What am I doing wrong. The adaptor is balanced with two black indentations around the top of the plug. Was this the wrong adaptor? I' ve tried stereo and mono inputs with no luck. I know the subwoofer jack works on my reciever because I have hooked up my old sub with no problems.

What you want to use is a TS connector and stay away from the balanced TRS. I think you have the right adaptor, but you want the unbalanced version..no double ring. Your very close
