Can I link caps to get the amount I need or is this a wast of time?

We frequently make very large cluster caps using multiple smaller value units. The benefit of doing this is lower cost and a very low ESR.

For example

Those are all the components excepting the resistors for the original Arvo passive XO.

Making the large cap values from multiple smaller caps cuts the cost in 1/2.

I wouldn't ever use an electrolytic cap
