    Aborted/reject project showcase

Every time I clean out the garage I come across this speaker cabinet that I just can't throw out. It was my first attempt at DIY speakers around last June and I remember how much work I had put into it. I keep telling myself I'll use it for parts someday.

So I got to thinking about how many others have aborted or reject projects sitting around. Who knows maybe someone will be willing to take it off your hands. One persons junk may be another persons ju... er inspiration.

    Aborted or reject: Reject

Reason for reject: I must not have owned a square back then.

What I learned from this: Patience. Measure 3 times cut once. And the best time to stop a questionable project is now.

        LOL, funny thread.

This represents about 1/3 of the speaker carcasses I have laying around right now. These are the ones I didn't immediately destroy. I may have kept some around for possible future use or possible refinishing.

I'd be happy to participate but I threw out most of that stuff around last November finally! Of course, that doesn't mean I won't create more in the future.... several possibilities already!

Here's a picture of the speakers I currently have in my listening room. My wife thought it would be a good idea to move them when I was at work, when I was testing them in the living room and dropped one on another one of my speakers. Yes folks, these would be 6'+ line arrays that weigh about 100 lb each. Why she thought she could move them all by her 5'2" 130lb. self is beyond me. The top of the right side is bashed in and the top of the back is pretty damaged. Oh well, those only took 30 hours or so to build. No biggie :a>

I think after I finish my new dipoles I'm going to gut the line arrays and burn them out back. I'll make her watch :B
