No more boom boom thump thump!

Well my boy named HSU is on a truck to the mid west and I am on to bigger and better things.hehe Been lurking around for several weeks and just took the plunge. Mike shipped me his last RLP15 D2 and snagged a EP2500 locally. Got the MDF in zee garage and hopefully get to it this weekend. Thanks for all your advise and postings to encourage the beginner.

Is this driver not going to be made anymore or are they just temporarily out of stock?

I'd say this forum has been quite effective at helping move soundsplinter product, no?

I'd say a big ole "yes".

Nick, what are your plans with the new equipment? I've been lusting for the same things you just bought.

I am thinking a sealed box at roughly 4.0-4.5 cubic ft as Mike recommended and using one channel of the EP2500.
                But nothing is in stone...........

Well I made a little progress, box will yield approx 4.25 cubic volume sealed. 1.5 walls and will be double braced. Had my wife pick up some insulation and she came home with r-30. Seems a little thick will that be ok?

The thickness of the batts isn't important.

You fill the box at a rate of put 0.5-1.5 lbs per cubic ft. Start with 0.5 lb/cu ft. and listen. And more 0.5 lb at a time. Each time the bass will get 'tighter' When the last amount added only results in decreased output. Remove the last amount added.

Ok this thing has been up and running for a week or so and havnt been able to spend alot time tinkering with it but cant help but ask what are these subs with the RLP15 comparable too? The sound is so tight and articulate and zero boooooom and no rattle. I have never heard anything comparable and Im sure spoiled for life. Its awesome and I am very pleased, even the wife has commented how clean it sounds. Ummmm still have a second channel. Hehe Thanks!
