tannoy 611's needs modernizing?

my tannoy floorstanders are getting on abit now but they still look sound newish, my problem is that the speaker game has moved on and even though the sound is still typical 611's smooth,warmish,punchy i feel more detail is needed. Could i get more detail out of these classic floorstanders? along with more warmth, silky smoothness and none of that earbleeding treble i hear when listening to modern speakers in shops. The reason why mods come to mind is the fact that all the drivers are near perfect and havn't been pounded and i can save a few ££££££'s?
