        That is very cool. My current entertainment center is a layer of concrete block, mdf, concrete block, mdf, etc. all painted black. Works well, looks good, but the wife hates it (only because it is CMU). I've been thinking that something like this may be my next project. I really like how you handled the top shelf.

          oaqm - The lower portion looks like something that I am in the middle of designing for my application. I have a 92" projector screen that falls real low on the wall, so I am looking for a A/V unit that has an overall finished height of 16"-18", but it will have to be 87" wide and 24" deep.

          I like the look of yours.
