    Everything's relative

I thought this was a little funny for all of the "go big or stay home" diy'ers here. It's also a lesson that everything is relative to what someone is used to.

My wife and I were just working on our plans/design for our new house when she mentioned that the small speakers I had built could go in the living room. Not recalling any small speakers I had built I looked at her puzzled, and she re-iterated "the small ones you did last year".

The small ones are shown below next to the big ones in front of the 50" high screen.

      That's funny...

I have owned my RM40's, which have been a staple of our living room decor, since before I met my wife. My wife only compares potential speakers to the RM40s (12x16x58). She has mentioned a few times that they don't really seem that big because they are tall, not wide. The Arvo Pärts are 16 or 18" wide, I can't recall, but she probably won't be happy when she sees them.

Yeah, width seems to bother gals more. 15.5" for the Arvo's before any decorative trim.

Which is why I'm leaning towards making the Isiris just with the 4 - 10's, to keep the baffle width down, as well as cutting the height.

I love that- M8a MTM's are your SMALL speakers! :T
