Painted Phase Plugs on Dayton RS-180? Bad or?

There are a pair of Dayton RS-180 on E-bay that have the phase plug painted gold, would this have an bad effect on the driver?

As long as the paint doesn't contaminate or block the VC travel path, shouldn't be a problem. Better be a thin layer of paint.

Thanks Jon for the reply. I checked in the am and they were already sold.
I was kinda suspicious of the paint and how it was applied. Probably someone thought that it might be "neat" for them to be gold without any regards to sound reproduction...
