Silver Voice Coil

Does anyone know the rationale behind the Seas T25FC-001 using a silver wire voice coil? Electrical conductivity of silver is only slightly higher than copper and weight is significantly higher. I would have thought copper plated aluminium wire to be the optimum choice. Silver wire would also be more difficult to work but does have the mystique factor.

The cynical side of me says you may have hit on it...

OTOH, B&W and others have used silver voice coils in some fo their high end models, to fairly positive reviews. You know, goes along with the silver cables. I'm not so convinced myself, but I'm always open to persuasion. OTOH, I think that's one of the last things to optimize, and judging from the measured performance (which may not be fair given how Seas often uses non IEC baffles), their new tweeters still have me scratching my head.
