    Measuring dipoles in nearfield

JohnK has posted an article on his web site describing how to measure low and mid frequency dipole speakers in the nearfield, thus not needing a very large open space to measure in. As we all know, for box speakers it is a relatively easy matter to measure the low frequency nearfield and splice it to the farfield midrange data. John shows how to do this with a dipole as well. He only makes one assumption, and that is that the front and rear frequency response of the dipole is identical except for phase, which it is not due to the basket/magnet structure, but it's probably close enough.

Thanks, I just skimmed through it for now, but it looks useful and informative.
