I have a Proxima 5900 with a burned blue polarizer. I bought a similar projector so I could take its polarizer and replace the burned one with it. Can someone tell me where these polarizers are and what do they look like?

You really need to buy a service manual.
Only then will you understand what a monsterous undertaking this operations is....... 8O

I have taken this projector apart and put it back together again a couple of times, but I have not seen any glass that looks burned in any way. If you can give me a clue as to what a blue polarizer looks like it would help. If I ruin the projector it does not matter. Since it did not work right it was free.

Thanks for the link and Info, Dennis. Polarizer plate replacement and adjustment isn't a casual task. Bill Cushman discussed the process a bit for the 400Q once with me years ago, and some ways to tweak it and get the contrast ratio up a bit further. As Thomas recommends, having a service mnaual is a VERY good idea. I bought one for the 400Q I used to have (it's been with ThomasW quite a few years).
