    Crown K series amps

An internet rumor :gossip: says resident Jon had a hand
in the design of K series amps and won't use them full
    range.

    True/False ?

If true, what is the real recommended frequency response?

... and how come you couldn't make a good design :uhoh: :gah: :

I'm curious what your thoughts are on this concept and if there might be an AudioWorx version of some degree possible. It seems simple enough to build with a RD ribbon on top of a bass bin of some description. Could an RD75 be used on top of a pair of M8a's in a bass bin using a Behringer as the XO? Also if the RD's aren't

      1)True.

2)The performance parameters were determined by Crown, not Jon

3)Jon's a purest, his recommendation for the Crown K series is not to run them higher than ~1KHz or so IF you want the best sound quality

        1. How bad is the SQ full range? If you were to ABX this with
something else can you make people fail easy or is this a
        'golden ear' effect?

        2. Is this due to high distortion above 1khz?

        3. In the K series price range, is this the best performing
        subwoofer amp?

The K Series are excellent amps for their intended use. And many people use them for fullrange home audio.

Given the cost of the K Series, I'd certainly consider some of the analog amps designed for home audio use.

It is a very good amp for those needing a passively cooled high powered sub amp.

Other than that is where your ability to audition comes into play....
