Well, Jonas, depends on who you talk to...
The lower you go, the clearer the RS180's are. In general, I think going no higher than 1400 is a good idea. That's what I did with the 27TDFC's. With the RS28A-4, there's probably no real reason not to take 'em down to 1250 or 1200. I'm not sure I'd go with a conventional LR4, though, as stuff at 2400 wouldn't be attenuated much, and they're already showing some strong ETC dispersion by then. Just my 0.02 USD, but you know what a Luddite I am.
The RS28A-4 hangs in with the Seas Millenium quite well at test tone clusters at 1 kHz with 800 Hz and 1200 Hz side bands... beats it out in distortion at high levels, as noted on other posts.
