G5: The Fastest Desktop on The Planet?

    We find out Monday.

Apple is due to wow us with the first consumer 64-bit OS running on their new 64-bit IBM 970 based G5 CPU. AMD's Hypertransport system bus won't hurt either as it ought to allow for 1Ghz bus speeds.

        They did...er...they will.

OS X Panther has added even more features that require a 2-button mouse. Exposé and Folder Actions, for example, are set to the right-click menu.

Supposedly a new keyboard and 2-button mouse (rumored to be bluetooth) will release in August when the G5 ships.

SPDIF Toslink in and out, finally moving towards being a real digital hub.

Within a year or two I will finally be able to make an overpriced HTPC out of one of these.

My father is buying one in August along with his Tosh LCOS TV. We'll see how that works out.
