I'm not sure Intel has ever not been in complete control of the CPU market lol. That's pretty awesome on the storage technology though. Granted we still need better interfaces for our current tech like VME. I'm not sure VME could handle 1000X the bandwidth of current SSD capabilities though.

Intel is going to have to slash more before I would consider a P4, even then I would want the 533Mhz FSB version with .09 micron core, which would most likely follow Intel's typical Flagship chip pricing and be somewhere around $1000 cdn anyway

Intel released the 2.5 ghz P4 with the quad pumped bus speed of 533Mhz. It seriously kicks ass and really leaves the Athlon 2100+ XP in the dust.
