Considering a 1068 instead of using my 972 as a per-amp. I have the RCD1072 (cd player) pluged in analog & the RMB 1095 as the power amp to my NS1000M Yamaha speakers for 2 ch with my sub set to cut in at the lowest setting on the sub. I do have a 5.1 setup but mostly play CDs & get into a few live music concerts on DVD (a pity the quality of sound is not that good on most), not into movies.
My question is how much of a difference (improvement) would I get from my cds. I have tried the cd player into the 5.1 input (just L&R front) & consider it an improvement over the analog from the CD player to the cd input on the amp, which is an improvement over the digital in from the CD player. I like the idea of setting the crosover points for the sub but that makes no difference to the bi-pass analog on the 1068. It would help my music dvds.
I was considering waiting until the new replacement for the 1068 but that is a lot of listening time.
Some of you Rotel fans have probably been in a similar situation so your advice will be highly considered in this next step with my system. Should I just sit tight for a year.
Thanks
