    Material-dependant damping? Is it necessary?

    There are a lot of cones on the market these days made of materials such as ceramics (accuton, and I'm assuming alumina), as well as many still metals like magnesium and titanium.

    These materials have poor damping factors, but wouldn't this be a disadvantage? Why or why not?

    edit: Also, does the natural frequency of a system play into the driver design?
