    Hello guys,

I just finished lining up one statement box with wedge foam, and I was about to wire it up and install the crossover board, but decided to do one last test.

So, after connecting everything I fired up my ops:Onkyo SR606ops: and I heard sound coming out of all five drivers, then I started increasing the volume and at around 49-52 the Onkyo shut off and the stand by light started to blink.

When I disconnected the statement from it, it would go all the way up to the max volume, but with statement it shuts off after 49...

    I tried both crossovers...

Could the crossovers be bad or the Onkyo cannot provide enough power to the Statement?

    Thanks in advance!

      Double check the crossover wiring.

I found the problem, silly me...:banghead:

I used this binding plate with these binding posts instead of these binding posts, so the posts I have are not insulated and the plate is made of aluminum...yes you can hit me across my head

I tested the crossover and drivers directly and everything worked fine...thank goodness the crossovers are fine.

Now, I don't want to spend $60! for just the insulated binding posts, so what can I use to insulate the posts I have from the plate?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

        J

Here is what you want: Nylon shoulder washers.

Yes the whole orchestra is in those boxes

                Hello everyone,

I started my build in April and around July hit a wall regarding how I will install the crossovers in the Statements, which I figured out about 6 weeks ago which gave me enough encouragement to start the work again.

I had a full week off last week and that helped me complete the build.

                Here are the pics:

Since I'm short on vocabulary, I will only say this: The Statements bring the whole orchestra in your house, you will not miss a single beat with these bad boys and boy did Michael Buble sound great? I can just close my eyes and completely forget that I'm listening to a recording, the sound stage engulfs you completely, and best of all ... my wife noticed a huge improvement, and that's a BIG statement coming from her, trust me!

The Statements are phenomenal, absolutely amazing system.

Thank you Jim and Curt for sharing this outstanding design with us.

WAIT! Isn't the ribbon tweeter supposed to be on top of the CC? I see the midrange in the top spot and ribbon in the bottom. Any reason for this or just a placement deal?

I like it this way, but not sure if the tweeter should always be on top, but it's not a problem I can just flip it

Actually, the ribbon should be on top when the center is mounted below the screen to take advantage of the upward lobing effect of the crossover. Give it a try and see what you think.

Whatever way sounds the best to you is the best orientation of the CC. The main vertical lobe is a few degrees above the tweeter.

Beautiful finish work on the cabs. :T

Now I want to listen to music

I haven't been a music person most of my life, but with these speakers I think I'm becoming one so what I ask here today is some good music recommendations, and weekend is right here!

Just throw in your suggestions and I will sample them over at Amazon and pick the ones I like, or if there already is a thread about music point me to it.

                                                Thanks all!

Oh, and if you want some video to go along with your music, check out both the Dave Matthews - Live at Radio City Music Hall and John Mayer - Where the Light Is. Both are very well recorded in multi-channel and stereo for live concert DVD's/Blu-Ray.
