My Classe and Wilson Audio set-up finally.
After being a member on this site for several months now I thought it appropriate to post a few pics of my system and "man cave" where all of my relaxation occurs.
The big chaise on the sectional is my favorite place to chill out and do my serious listening and watching and I prefer it to my own bed.
Nothing special but light years ahead of what I had this time last year.

I am about to make a bit of a change but want to wait until I actually take delivery of it before I open my mouth and take a chance on something happening that can make it fall through or not materialize. I will keep everyone posted if your curiosity is piqued.- Bottom

The room really is comfortable and usable. So often people put things together that doesn't get used or is uncomfortable and that is such a shame and a waste. I LIVE in that room when I am home and the chaise portion of the sectional is my own private "cloud 9."
Thank you very much for your kind compliment. I put a lot of heart, soul, energy, sweat, and money in it because I did it entirely myself. If you could see the before and after you would really appreciate why I am so thrilled with it. The former state was bland, had terribly uncomfortable furniture, and a very average home theater system that I never liked or thought sounded good at all. I finally have something that I can enjoy and be proud of.

You are correct about me and the center. It was a mental hurtle that had to be jumped but it wasn't necessary until the SSP-800 acquisition. My system did an admirable job producing a phantom center with DD and dts encodes. It is a much different story now with some (many?) Dolby TrueHD soundtracks. I am finding that I need more control over dialog and a phantom center will no longer suffice my needs. What took two years of deliberation was answered in less than two weeks time. Before I was very reluctant to receive the HTM1D. Now I anticipate it. Funny how things work out. :P"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today."- Bottom

Thank you very much Mike! The finish on the Wilson Audio product line really is amazing. They use an automotive type of finish that is literally much more refined and painstaking than that of the best auto manufacturers.
The down side is if you enjoy the natural beauty of wood and all of the different species and grain patterns, etc., then you are up the creek. I enjoy seeing a gorgeous pair of B & Ws or any of the other high-end speakers that take great pride in showcasing their woodworking and cabinetry skills. With the exclusive use of the phenolic resins and ultra-stiff materials used in the manufacture of Wilson Audio speakers, it makes it nearly impossible for them to utilize natural wood grains in their line.
I look at it this way, some people have painted trim in their home, and some have stained trim. They can both be stunning in their given application and one can look out of place in one setting where the other fits in perfectly. It's all good!
It is interesting to go to their website and read about the "WilsonGloss" paint process. http://www.wilsonaudio.com/product/s...ilsonGloss.php
My old Sophia 2s were black. When we replaced them a few months ago I decided to go with a custom color that Porsche started using on the 2007 or 2008 model year, called Macadamia Metallic. The pictures don't do them justice at all. In the pics they look like a muddy brown and they are far from that. They are obviously a brown tone but they have a high level of metallic bronze and copper in them and it's almost like they shoot fire when the light hits them. That is a problem because I don't have any light on them so really showcase their beautiful color. I debated on whether to do small spots or can lights above but to be honest, that monster amp is like having a big space heater in the room already and is going to force me to add more CFM to my family room to take care of the additional heat load. On the converse, it will be nice and toasty in there this winter!
I will try to take a couple more pics when my new addition arrives in a week or so and I will figure out a way to throw some light on one of those Sophias to give you guys an idea of what they really look like.
Honest everyone, you all have been so kind, helpful, and complimentary that it makes me feel like a proud new papa or something. I truly am thrilled with my new family room and system and it was an awesome consolation to myself to attempt getting past my burglary last year where we lost most everything.
Thanks again to my Classe family!- Bottom

Well im now officially part of the Classe Club, albeit my membership is junior since I only own a 5100. My only decision now is where to put it. Personally I think it looks kinda cool sitting on top of my rack, but my wife doesnt. She wants it on the floor or on a stand alone stand. Maybe ill look into a hyperspike.
or on the floor...but with a rack

Cant go there. tomorrow I am getting the old style classe single amp stand. We will see how that looks. I am going to move the cabinet a closer to the amp and remove the xbox and PS3.- Bottom
