The Party. I haven't seen it since it was released in 1968 and forgot just how laugh-out-loud-funny it is. It was written and directed by Blake Edwards and stars Peter Sellers as a bumbling Indian ( from India) actor mistakenly invited to a Hollywood bigwig party. It's an MGM relase and although it is enhanced for widescreen, I found the picture to be a little on the soft side. But there's some good Henry Mancini music, a cute Claudine Longet, and a really funny series of sequences featuring a servant who steals a drink everytime Sellers ( a tetotaller) refuses a drink. The whole thing turns out to be a riot... literally.
If you want a good laugh, rent it. If you're a Sellers and Blake Edwards fan, buy it, even though the transfer sucks.
