I especially like the subwoofer made in a 5 gallon paint container. How did it sound? Was it for a full scale HT system or for a computer system? Seems like it would make a killer computer subwoofer.

The speaker using a paint can for the enclosure was not a subwoofer, but a "normal" full range speaker. I can't recall it sounding all that bad. It was one of the first speakers I listened to, but after listing to 20 pairs of speakers, they all sort of blur together.

These DIY meets are interesting and fun; I had a great time at the Northern CA DIY this year at Mark K's. Even those just considering DIY speakers should try attending a meet in their area; it could be very educational, including getting the opportunity to meet "experienced locals".
I think we may have had a tie for the unusual with the "trashcan speaker " at Atlanta, at No. CA DIY with the Carlson Pipe Hartley system! Creativity and thinking outside the box!
