Just in case anyone is interested SGHT reviewed the 1066 in there Jan 03 issue. They gave it a nice review and in the editor choice award section it received a gold award (the Krell HTS 7.1 won the platinum). One thing that I learned in the review was Rotel has made changes in the RSP-1066's video section, which has increased the comp. video bandwith to over 100MHZ. This is more than enough for HDTV. SGHT confirmed that on testing a more recent production unit it passed HDTV and DVD signals without degrading the picture.

Wow! What a news! Can someone confirm this thing about increase video bandwith. Andrew?
And from which build date is it starting? Had my unit in october.
I didn't even try to pass my HD signal trough the RSP-1066 and went directly to the TV, because of what I've heard before!
Hope it's true.
Thanks Joe for the info.To spend more $$$ on electronics without first addressing room acoustics is fruitless IMO.- Bottom

Andrew, could you please check with Rotel if it is possible to upgrade "old" RSP-1066's to 100 MHz bandwidth?
I belive that the video bandwitdth is the only real flaw in the old RSP 1066 (considering price) - provided that the double bass issue is fixed.- Bottom
