I have had very good luck with pioneer's non-elite line of receivers. They seem to be intuitive and user friendly to use. I tried another brand (yamaha) and it was a nightmare. It will either be given away or gutted to see if the chassis can be used.
I have a marantz sr18u and I am considering buying a Denon avr4306.
I wanted some opinions on weather the denon will give me better surround sound that the marantz? the denon is newer and had an auto set-up.
any suggestions will be appreciated!!

in my opinion the sound difference sonically will be minimal but the ability of the newer receiver to be able to adjust for in room difference will make it sound a lot better, are you going to use this from a multichannel HT system or a 2 channel stereo?
