Wow, got busy with some other projects and boom--six months go by in a flash.

Finally started on the crossovers. Tons of respect to those of you who solder up beautiful crossovers. On previous projects I hid the ugliness underneath the mounting board, but this time I decided to do everything up top. It's not easy to make it look nice!

I'm a hi-fi newb, and I don't have refined tastes, but I'm really digging what I'm hearing so far! I'll play with them for a while and then post my impressions.

The cabinets came out fantastic and it was great following your build thread. I hope you get many great hours of listening.

I've had some time to play around with these, and I'm pleased with the results. I try not to complicate my life too much, so my entire system is this:

99% of my music is via Tidal Connect, but I also have a couple dozen CDs ripped to a usb drive. I can only compare these speakers to my Docero towers, but they are clearly different. The Ekta soundstage is considerably wider and somewhat more forward than the Docero, although perhaps a tiny bit shallower. Or maybe that pushed back soundstage on the Docero just gives the illusion of depth? In any case, my first impression has held up so far: in comparison, the Ektas sound luxurious and voices especially are more convincing. Both have satisfying bass for their modest size and cost, but the Ekta does seem to have a bit more weight and control. I generally listen at moderate to low levels, but the Ekta also play louder with less effort. All that said, it's cool to see how well the Docero hold up against a project that's 3x the cost.

                      All IMHO, of course

Build looks great! What're we looking at here, a DAC and amp/preamp? Forgive me, I don't recognize much of the newfangled stuff out there.

Thanks! I'm streaming Tidal from a Bluesound Node2i -> Mytek Brooklyn DAC+ -> Mytek Brooklyn amp. Complications have a way of sneaking in, though--a miniDSP box is coming tomorrow, cause I wanted to play around with Dirac...

That's a nice compact setup! I never would have figured that amplifier would be as powerful as it is.
