    Ford v Ferrari--go see it.

Title says it all. While it takes a few liberties with history (nothing major and all in the service of telling a coherent story rather than disjointed episodes), it's very entertaining and worth a BIG SCREEN experience. Brought my 14 year old son, currently obsessed with performance and race cars of all types, and he loved it. Very little CGI (the cars are replicas, not CGI, and a mock up of 1966-era Le Mans track was built to better capture the spirit of the race). If IMAX is an option, worth choosing it.

i am a huge car nut.
was an avid formula one fan back in the 60's as a kid when i had to wait for weeks to get race reports cuz there was no coverage in the US.
Le Mans has always been my most respected race, not only due to the human effort but the requirements on a race car to go full out for 24 hrs and survive.

hope to see this tomorrow, but alas, i waited too long & it is no longer in the IMAX equipped theater.

just to add, anyone who enjoys the race footage should get a copy Steve McQueen's "Le Mans", a movie he financed, directed, drove in with parts filmed during the actual race in 1970.
some of the best movie racing footage ever made, imho.

          saw it today.

          very impressed.
good story lines keeps every one attentive throughout the 2.5 hours.
good acting, if a bit melodramatic at time.

as one who has spent time on real race tracks in amatuer compition, i especially appreciated the effort to get inside the head of a real driver and get a sense of how some one can perform at a level of speed & concentration that only fighter pilots and formula car & moto drivers do.

not overly impressed by the cinematography, see "Grand Prix" with James Garner and "Le Mans" by and with Steve McQueen for the benchmarks.
