Former B&W owner, present SF owner

I had B&W CM9, then B&W 805s, but since the latter were not able to fill my livingroom with enough bass I had to let them go.....

          My current system is:

          Analog
Rega P5 with groovetracer mods (subplatter & counterweight)
          Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridge
Rotel Michi RHQ-10 RIAA phono amplifier

          Digital
          Logitech Squeezebox Touch
          Rega DAC

          Audionet SAM V2 integrated amplifier

Sonus Faber Domus Grand Piano speakers

I actually find the SFs both open and direct, and with a great punch and weight in the bass. Not the laidback and warm/soft sound that seems to be the trademark?
They also have a sweet midrange and top end, don't get me wrong, but they have blown me away with Rammstein and Safri Duo several times.

Those are really nice Rolf. Suggestion, get some cups to sit your points in, your floor is going to get damaged. Alternative would be tile squares turned upside down, you don't want to put oin shiny part.

I have the original Concerto Grand Pianos, and they sit on what are called sedementary stones. They have little holes drilled correct diameter for points, so the floor is protected, speakers isolated. food for thought. you could have some made from marble squares, say 2-3" thick.

            Nice job photographing your stuff.

I was just on the Sonus faber website. I did not see my Liuto towers listed in the products page. Did they drop the Liuto? It sure is a wonderful sounding speaker at its price point.

I don't know. I'm way out of touch with their lines now. I know one thing, Sonus faber doesn't create speakers they create art. Just such lovely work. B & W are fantastic looking and there's some art there too, but Sf has been so creative for years, it's astonishing.

I really wanted the Amati Hommage. If I had been rich, I would have owned them.

I've recently listened to the Venere 3.0. My dealer had a 'Music Matters' seminar and the Sonus Faber was being used to show Naim products. I thought the 3.0 presentation was very well balanced and articulate. I was actually a little surprised at how good it sounded compared to higher cost speakers at the event. The finish and build quality appeared top notch. I plan to go back soon to give the Venere 2.5 a listen. The Venere line would look so good in my system.

Well, I finally went to give the 2.5 a demo. I never made it to the second floor showroom to hear them. My dealer had a pair of Hales Revelation Three on the first floor. I asked to hear them. Now I own them!!! I just hope it isn't another 8 months before I get back to the dealer for a demo.

Original midwoofer is CA 18 RCYD/KP-SF eller h1609-04. Can i put in something better there maybe? (without replacing other components)

I am sure what was put in there was all timbre matched and stuff, impedance, lots of factors, crossover considerations even. I'd say the guys in DIY Jon Marsh and 5th Element will come closer to helping with alternate solutions than someone here in Sf section.

                                      Goodluck.

Not sure if it's the right section to post this.
I have a pair of Sonus Faber Concerto Grand Piano towers.
                                        Both tweeters are dead.
Part number on the back is 19tff-sf H0827-8ohms.
I found same model 19tff1 tweeter for around $33 + shipping here: https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.co...-dome-tweeter/

                                        The only difference is H0737.
I'm not sure what that means.
                                        Both are Seas 3/4" tweeters.
                                        Are they equivalent replacements?
Original costs $120+shipping each. If it's similar, why pay almost 4x?
                                        Thank you for suggestion.
