    Hi,
Back in the day I wanted to get a C2, but it was just out of my price range at the time. I got a good deal on an Anthem AVM 20 and used that with some Parasound classic amps and an A52/A23 combo to great success. I moved to an AVM 30 and was holding out, for as long as I could for the new C3, but it was time to buy and I went with the Anthem D2v. It's a great pre/pro.

Just remove those knobs and spray a little deoxit in there. Should clear right up :T

:T Agreed! Super easy fix. (I would probably remove the top cover to reach the potentiometers for a more "controlled" spray).

Thanks Peter! I'll be sure to do that.

I'll stop hi-jacking this great picture thread now!

              My HT equipment rack

My rack is an ongoing work in progress. The equipment doesn't change very often, but the wiring is something I'm constantly trying to improve on. At the moment I'm building custom face plates for all the equipment for that seamless look. The equipment list from top to bottom:
              Kaleidescape KSERVER-1500 1U media server
              Pronto RFX9600 serial controller
              HTPC
              Touchscreen system controller.
              Parasound Halo C2
              Topfield PVR
              PS Audio Power Plant Premier
              DVDO VP50Pro video processor
              Kaleidescape KP5000 DVD player
              Kaleidescape KP5000 DVD player
              2U storage drawer
              Sony PS3
Foxtel STB and DLINK ADSL modem/router
              Velodyne SMS-1
              Halcro MC70 power amplifier
              PS Audio Power Director 4.7
              1700VA UPS.
Not seen is my main stereo amp, Aragon 8008Mk2, and in the back of the rack is the HP ProCurve Gigabit switch for the Kaleidescape and the Clipsal CBUS PCI interface. My screen is a Stewart Filmscreen Greyhawk RS Electriscreen and my projector is a BenQ PE 8720.
It all comes together quite nicely.

Hi, threetrees. My personal A51 is a standard US model, 120V. Which photos are you referring to? I'm pretty sure I've posted to this thread all the pictures I know of, of any Parasound items. (mine, others, or professional advertisement pictures)

Ah, I see! No, that picture is from Norway, so I would not be surprised if that is a 230V version of the A51.

hi all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if you have the parasound A23 and if so can you tell me if yours have a HUM from the unit.

Am trying to fine out if it normal because I have the A23 and my one is Humming. I took it back to the dealer and they put a new transformer and that did not fixes it they think it normal and the repair guy said he could not hear it but me and my dealer could hear it and he said it louder then normal.

so wondering if I should take it back. thanks guys.

The mechanical transformer humming (i.e. humming even without speakers connected) could be caused by a DC-offset in the power of your home. That's why the repairman could not hear it. He was in a different location that has "clean" power. Have you tried a "hum buster" ? You can build one yourself or get a ready made one:

                                          Thanks peter,

I don't remember having a hum when I bought it. At my Hi-Fi shop it did HUM but at the repair place they said it did not HUM.

I also have a Musical Fidelity M6i Amplifier and that does not Hum.

I will have a look at the Hum Buster.

I don't remember having a hum when I bought it.
That's a pretty clear cut case of bad power. Something has possibly changed in your neighborhood power grid that has caused the power quality to detoriate (new neighbors, new equipment, more use of fluorecent lighting, etc.). Toroidal transformers usually don't start to hum more with time. If they hum, they do so from day one.

I believe PS Audio offers a 30 day in home trial. (Or at least their return policy for the Hum Buster is equivalent to that).

Have a look at this thread too. Post #159 has the schematic for a DIY DC-blocker (can be made for $10~$20)

Where do I find the 'final'/best design. There are lots of posts in this thread and lot of modified pictures with caps' different ways round and some have more diodes than others. Is there a link somewhere? Thanks in advance

One recently sold on eBay for $810. Use that as a ballpark figure.
