CA-5300 AC hum

Hi,

I just received Ca-5300 and when connected either to ac directly or thru ac cleaner, once turned on i can hear with each click hum coming from the rear of the unit. I contacted the Classe support but they just recommended to send it for repair if the hum wont disappear.

I have SSp-800 connected to it, but even when everything is disconnected including speaker wires just AC cable, i hear the hum. I changed ac cables, different ac outlets...

Any suggestions what I can do? Is this common? Anything I can look for inside the amp?

Try a different outlet on a different circuit.

You could try a cheater plug. Though, if it solves your hum problem, it usually means you have wonky electrics in your house. Or a poor earth ground.

It's a bear of an amp but you could try taking it to a friends house to see what happens on their circuit.
