A great example of room treatment and results

Ok boys and girls, it's time to go to the movies, and view and (sort of) hear a good example of what basic room treatments can do (with the sound of two hands clapping).

This is one of my pet issues, even though I realize that for many folks, it's not possible for various logistics and personal reasons not to do this. But, you should know what you're missing if you don't...

This video comes courtesy of Darko Audio, who does a lot of equipment reviews (subjective) and a place I drop in on now and then when I can get away from the current project work...

But here is the feature presentation, shared with me last night by Steve Manning, and as I replied to him, I'm in violent agreement with everything in this video, and only wish I could get more HTG members to give it a view and try some of these things out. I've done stuff like this for various locations and reasons starting in the mid 70's, (small recording studio builds, special private showroom for high end shop), and the simplest way to explain is to say you cannot perceive the recording acoustic and imaging with any faithfulness if your listening room is drowning it out!

This is on my to do list and I'm getting closer! Once the door is completed to the theater/listening room I will take new room measurements and start exploring treatments like this. I had been looking at GIK Acoustics:
Order Direct - GIK Acoustics designs made-to-order bass traps, acoustic panels and acoustic diffusion for home theaters, recording studios, restaurants, listening rooms, auditoriums, and any environment where listening is critical. 5-Star Rated from +500 reviews for our acoustic treatment panels and acoustic room treatments. GIK Acoustics is known for its expert room acoustics advice and as a leader in producing the highest quality acoustic panels and sound panels at the most affordable price. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, GIK Acoustics creates the most effective sound absorbing panels and sound diffusers for commercial and residential applications, used in any space where sound clarity is important.

Now I know another vendor as I haven't spent a lot of time looking at options yet. The Home goal has been to get a door installed. Then work on measurements and start seeing options out there and working with some of these vendors to see what they propose.

Great video and thanks for sharing.

I've ordered a new USB cable for a mic I have on loan to take some room measurements next week. Now that the hidden door is near completion I can get some room readings to see what can be improved.
