The gray letters on the pages make it very difficult to read.
What's with the Teletubbies looking web page?

We'll have to take note of that... there are big differences in basic visual acuity among folks of all age. My wife, who is younger than I am, needs close up and distance glasses and cannot read her Samsung phone sometimes without glasses even with the font sizes turned up way larger than I would ever use - she doesn't understand how I read my iPhone Pro or food package instructions. I'm 70, and have always been somewhat near sighted, but getting older my vision has become more neutral. I still use glasses driving at night, though, and I hate products that have small dark gray print on a blackground because they think it looks cool!
OTOH, on the computer I have retina or 4K or 6K displays, with default scaling (that means large working area and small text) and the new site doesn't give me any problems. There's probably a parameter that can be tweaked, but may have to be by Sven.the AudioWorx

Did you try the dark theme? I didn't have a lot of time to spend on the look at this time. I was focused on getting off the old server and onto a modern OS to support TLS for HTTPS access. Do you have any example sites you can share that has colors or theme you like? I need a visual to help me see what you're looking for and then I can figure out how to do that such as adding another style or tweaking the light or dark style.- Bottom

Sven, if there is a setting that adjusts the rendered size of the forum framing and text elements, this might help. I notice that many of the "supporting" items are smaller, including the renders of the user avatar, the bottom line text for "Edit, Quote, Flag, Like" and other screen elements. Possibly there is something that would bump up the size and help those having difficulty, particularly if they are not using a high res screen such as retina or 4K or Windows with screen elements scaled up for a higher resolution display?
I have an old Compaq laptop that still runs and has some very useful impossible to get software on it- I'll fire it up later today and see what things look like on a more "normal" older display. ("Normal" and "Older" doesn't really apply to most of my computer gear in use- just to me!)the AudioWorx

Let me know how the resolution works on your old Compaq JonMarshPainter in training- Bottom

I'm going to have to get an auxiliary WiFi to Ethernet router- that old Compaq doesn't work with the newer WiFi security modes, and I can't get it logged on. This Presario is from about 2004, and running Windows XP. And man, is the networking interface clunky!the AudioWorx

checking that, will take a bit of time to implement.
I have an old Vizio 24" monitor with HDMI and VGA that is NOT anything close to retina (about HD resolution) so I'll set that up with one of my portables and see how it looks. This should give a good idea.
Of course, another aspect that may affect this is display contrast ratio and off axis behavior. My wife's Dell looks awful on all kinds of stuff! I have a newer XPS15 that is pretty decent, once you scale up Windows, as 4K on a 15" screen doesn't really work.the AudioWorx

Just for comparison and fun, here are a couple of screen shots on my Mac Pro for the HTGuide Light and the HTGuide Dark motifs. These clips are about 2300 x 2400.

I think I have to agree. It doesn't really affect me, but the default text could be larger and darker. There must be a setting for that somewhere. For the record, this text is Arial 14.
I really like that going to htguide.com redirects to the forum now.- Danny- Bottom
