The room is looking good. Looks like you can mud and tape drywall. That is one thing I don't do very well. Sand off more than I put on. Good luck with the rest of your project. I am in the middle of my project also. Just finishing up the electric in the ceiling. Lots to do!Doug

Ya this was all the easy part. I am now getting frustrated with picking out the colors for Paint/Carpet.
I did now want the chairs I have to be brown in the first place, but got a good deal on them from being on the floor. I will probobly be going with a brown color now for the walls and maybe a desert/olive color on the floor with a Frieze type shag carpet.
I want to make it a War type theme in the room with some old ww2 and newer Nostalgia to decorate with. So hopefully these colors will blend it all in well.

Half of the room is now sanded out, There is very few spots needing touch up.
Hopefully I will have it primed this weekend.

you know that if you textured the walls it would help the acoustics greatly. I textured mine using 2 layers of sand plaster and then 2 layers of smooth plaster, It gave the room a stucco look and help cut down on reflections. Here is an example of how it turns out. This is in my kitchen that I just finished, in your HT you will not want to seal it with semi-gloss but with a flat sealer.Robert P. 8)

Jason, I wish that I would have seen your pics sooner,I would have suggested a dustless sander, You can rent from drywall supply companys. The ones I use have a 10" pad that spins like an orbital sander but slower, and sucks up the dust. It saves a ton of time and backache.Robert P. 8)

Hi Guys,
If you guys dont want any shiney gloss try Flat paint. The people at the store selling the stuff may try to talk you out of it because it can not be washed but......: bologna. I have washed splashes and drips of stuff off our Flat paint for years.
Except for the baths and kitchen our whole house is done in flat.......Pat

Ya I allways use flat, I have no kids yet though. I just keep a little brush handy for touch ups.
The room is all Primed now..and I will start painting it today. I rushed ahead and set up the projector just to make sure my dimensions were set for the screen and I have a couple screen shots posted. Its only shooting on primed wall right now.

The only painted part of my room is the ceiling, where I used flat midnight blue. Flat paint shows every scratch, ding, and smudge even if you touch it, so yes, you do have to be ready to touch it up. Thankfully, the ceiling doesn't get much touching. The rest of my room is fabric and carpet.CHRIS
Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

yea I will fabric my screen wall for sure. And I hope to someday do a full acoustic treatment with Gom on the walls...But Money was short for that part this year, so for now I will just throw up some acoustic panels...and call it good till next fall.
I got the Painting done now, It was a long day but worth it.

Colors have always been a tough choice for me.
Just about 5 weeks ago we had new carpet put throughout the house. The whole time in the back of my mind I was thinking how great it would be to buy some nice gear.$$$
Of course I knew my better half would not share the same dreams so I just stood back and let her enjoy the carpet.......Pat

Its a high grade carpet. Home depot does carry some of their stuff, under a different name of course. But they dont carry the type and quality I am looking for. Home depot and Lowes tend to get these manufactures to take one of their lines of carpet and cheapen it a little...Maybe lighten it up a little and then sell it under a different name.
That is the brand.

Hi Freon,
We just paid about 3-4 bucks a sq. ft. for our house from Home Depot. We also shopped around @ 3 or 4 other places for about at the same amount. For us it was well worth it but darned expensive. The Mohawk brand you mention is really, really nice carpet.
We had it laid at two different times about 4 weeks apart with two different crews. 1st crew was great 2nd crew was so so. Look it over and dont sign off on it until it is perfect.......Pat
