  • Windows8 issues... Logitech remotes

So i pick up a nice new HP laptop at BB for a killer price. Its loaded with Windows8. Not a big deal til i find out Harmony Logitech is working out the bugs of the new OS. I really dont have the time to wait for Harmony to solve all their issues. Can i purchase a copy of Windows7 and just run that as an OS. It would be much easier and i would also have a copy of the OS software like i should incase of problems later, from what i see so far Windows8 works much better with a touch screen type device....

Yep you sure can. $100 at newegg for home premium: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116986

Just note that if you want to go back to Windows 8, you may need to check and see if you have some kind of restore disc or something with the new laptop. I haven't bought a new PC in a long time but have heard they don't even provide restore discs anymore, much less a copy of the OS disc.

Logitech is one of the worst companies I've dealt with in regards to driver support.

You might try running the logitech installer in windows 7 mode AND the actual installed program.

I think wondows8 will be fine with a touch screen device, like a tablett ect. For a desktop or laptop, its combersome to say the least.

What other options are there for user programable remotes. I seem to be having alot of troubles with them lately
